Default The Feathers Inn Lichfield...anyone know it?

Our drummer's roped us into playing the open mic/jam night there tomorrow night (aparently with the promise of getting a Saturday slot).

Anyone know the place or play there?

No. The Kings Head is probably the best known music pub in Lichfield and I've played there. However, the Feathers Inn appears to be central Lichfield and for a town centre on a saturday night Lichfield is remarkably unthreatening. There are also a couple of nice reviews of the place on google so it doesn't look like there is much to worry about.

Yeah there seem to be some half decent acts playing there at the weekends...so we'll see what the Tuesday night crowd is like!

I've done open mic stuff in an acoustic duo before, but not with the full band.

It's a 'backline' provided affair so fingers crossed for something half decent to plug into (I think take a drive pedal along)

we did a few open mic nights with the whole band, one of which lead to a good paid gig. Can't say I was a big fan of doing it though. Much hanging about and then at most 15 minutes playing. If you are on late you realise that 99% of the audience is other people who are playing so they've all pissed off by the time you come on.

Still, Lichfield is a nice place and the pub sounds nice - don't let me put a downer on it!

Been there. Years ago we did those multi act gigs, so playing to the other bands and whatever mates they managed to drag along, who all leave as soons as their chosen act finish.

Still if it leads onto something it'll (hopefully) be worthwhile (optimistic fingers crossed).

Still on the plus side I'm sharing a lift with the drummer, so I can have a pint or two.

I've been down there a few times over the years; nice little place but I'm not TOTALLY sure on where they're putting a full band (unless ther's a function room that I don't know about) - not the biggest pub in the world!

Just had a search for their website (should have done that first I supose).

Anyway there's some gig shots here http://feathersinn.co.uk/?page_id=144

Looks like they're on a stage, so must be a secret door to the function room somewhere!
