I have just got hold of a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 (means jack to me!)
Big downside, it is Vista. Even worse, although I know it works fine on a wireless network it does not connect into my home Ethernet setup and being music based I do not want to activate the wireless system on my router (apart from the security aspects).
The problem, is I am sure the shedload of yellow !'s by the various network adapters in Device Manager.
Top of the list is 4 instances of "6T04 Adapter" . Now I have Googed a bit and folks cannot make up their minds. Some say the fail marks are an aberration of Blista and network should still work. Others say the opposite. Certainly Windows tells me the adapter is not working because the drivers are not installed (code 31) but I am buggered if I can find any drivers.
I would also like to make a set of recovery discs if I can but do not seem to be able to get into a "make recovery discs" situation or even close to it.
