    Yep. All that ^

It doesn't matter what you tell yourself, you'll still go back to pedals. I gigged a G3 for quite a while and loved it. As has been said, the delays are better that TC delays IMO. I had patches set up for songs that were ordered like our set list so I could get to them easily and the whole thing on paper suited me perfectly.

But I still flogged it and when back to pedals. There's just something magical about those bloody little boxes that is utterly infectious. Plus multi FX to me anyway, feel like a cheap cop out. Although I know that's absolutely not the case, it just feels like you went to peacocks to buy your pants because M&S was shut and you didn't want to wait for them to open.

As for the Mooers, well I have one on my board - the shimverb and its good, but only 30 quid good. You put it up against a hall of fame and its deficiencies become very clear. If you can get em half price of marcmart still then they are good value. I wouldn't pay full price for one though.

As for a back up for gigs - orange micro terror!

    Hmm now I'm all confused.

In terms of what kind of player I am, I am fast coming to the conclusion that I'm a one channel amp + a couple of OD pedals kind of a fellow. I know a trem pedal and a basic delay will probably work for me better for live stuff, but I like the idea of solving the practice and backup issue in one fell swoop and if it doesn't work for me I think it will still prove useful for recording ideas into my laptop.

The Micro Terror looks awesome, but it wouldn't work for me as I need clean cleans and I don't think the Micro would do that for me.

agreed (i haven't tried the hall of fame, though). I mean- it does what i want, and at £27 that's pretty good. But i wouldn't have paid £50 for it. Granted- the fact you know you can get them for £27 does sorta make them sound dear at £50, that's human nature. Like those "2 for 1" offers at the supermarket, when they end you don't want to pay full price (even if they're worth full price).

FWIW I think the drives are very good. They're worth more than £27 (but again, if you don't have to pay more than that, why would you? ).

EDIT: agreed wholeheartedly with being brutally honest with yourself- only you know what you're really like and whether you'll be happier with multifx or pedals.

I'm not sure the Shim Verb is a good example of a Mooer as it is their own design.

As far as I'm aware the direct clones like for example the Orange Phase, Ana Echo, etc are meant to be as good or better than the MXR original.

The pressure is off a bit as the G3 I was going to buy has gone!

^ Oh yeah, of course, I was just pointing out that i agreed with his assessment of it. I did say later in my post that i thought the drives (which are clones, as you rightly pointed out) are better. EDIT: obviously those other ones you mentioned are clones too, just I haven't tried them. Though I've heard some people had noise problems with the drives- my fuzz is noisy, but I also think it's faulty. my others are fine, though.

ah i just saw you posted what you'd got in the other thread. Sweet, I haven't tried either of those. I think they're meant to be two of the good ones, though.
