    Default Which free online lessons?

    Yo.

I'm pretty much the most beginner guitarist in the UK. I know a few chords and can only just keep rhythm... I think... but, I have a guitar and I'm unemployed for the minute - so, what a smashing opportunity to learn!

So, I'm looking at all these free Youtube guitar lessons, and there's millions of them. Does anyone know whose the best lessons are? Sure, I know none of them will be any substitute for getting proper lessons from a real teacher, but money is tight. Like, really, really tight.

I wanna learn how to play a soul/funky rhythm style - think sort of late 60's soul going into early 70's funk, with a bit of a bluesy lead style mixed in for good measure (that'll probably come in later though, when I'm learning about scales and improv and shit).

    Thanks muchly.

It's more general musician skills than technique, but there is loads of great free stuff on here: http://www.easyeartraining.com/

If you want to learn funk guitar Ross Bolton does the best vid I've seen:

Most comprehensive site is probably http://www.justinguitar.com/.

Worth looking at the lessons on the Gibson website, particularly the Arlen Roth ones. You may have to sift through them a bit but Arlen knows his blues, soul, country, rockabilly, etc, he won't be taking you down the thrash metal highway.

these guys give you 30 days free truefire TV and the lesson bank is huge. I know others on the forum like it and have signed up after the initial period.

but I've just read your post properly - for beginners then +1 for justinguitar.com. the guy is a legend.

As well as Justin's site I like the "next level guitar" vids - lots of free ones on youtube and at all levels.
I guess I find their tutors funkier than Justin - the surf guitar guy has a haircut and a half (I'm shallow that way).
I was tempted to sign up with them but haven't persuaded myself yet.
