It'd be interesting to know how many coppers are on the investigation team. Whilst there may be a case to answer, I can't help thinking that if it wasn't for Clifford's high profile, we might be able to have more police attempting to catch burglars and the like, which actually matters more to me.

If that happened it'd mean he'd have had to break in first, and so he would be considered the same as a burglar, thus Mrs C would legally be entitled to beat the fucker to bits with the first available empty bottle of Veuve Cliquot that falls to hand.

The police would have to have collected a LOT of evidence before arresting somebody with as much power as Clifford. He has access to the very best in Lawyers and I would imagine, enough information to keep several practises of criminal and divorce lawyers in jeans for years to come. Anybody who's stock in trade is information keeps some back for future use. I suspect we will here more soon as this investigation looks like it will roll on for a good while.

Even if the man had some "power" I suspect someone with real power would find a way to make him go away very quickly - like ... oh say some policemans investigating child abuse claims and the CPS. But more importantly the media he's helped to be as muck-raking and malicious as they are now have said he's been arrested so obviously the public will assume he's going to be a filth-wizzard and it's going to take a LOT to convince people otherwise, thanks to Clifford and Co that's how he wanted public perception and he can live with the fun times

I'm really not sure a PR guru can help... there's virtually no way to spin fucking kids in a good light.

I could be wrong, but I'd have thought that the Catholic Church would have found such a way if it were out there - given how often it came up.

Even if a child is REALLY naughty sexual abuse is usually a step too far.
