Has anyone tried Star Trek Online? For some reason the news of it passed me by and I only just heard of it through that trailer!

The Enterprise-E didn't have the detachable saucer, it's just the Galaxy Class.
Geek time. The Enterprise D was the first Galaxy class ship that did have a detachable saucer. The Enterprise D was destroyed in the film Star Trek: Generations and was replaced by the sleeker looking Enterprise E in Star Trek: First Contact.
Kirk's ship was the Enterprise A Constitution class - it was remodelled when the films came out and again when 1701-A was destroyed. The ship has been redesigned for the recent reboot of the film franchise.
The trailers look pretty good [don't they always though].

Apparently Benedict Cumberbatch is playing John Harrison, a Star Fleet officer who becomes a terrorist who destroys London and a chunk of the USA before Kirk and co chase him around the galaxy.
