We stopped doing Christmas almost ten years ago. It's so liberating!

I love it. About the only day where I don't feel guilty about not working.

it will be food, wine, and silly Wii games with the kids.

I think the problem may have been that I wanted a real working one.

Ah. Mine's only an old prop from some TV show. Never mind.

But I do have a TARDIS key that works. I'm keeping that.

This is something I'm pondering over at the moment. Rational scepticism is incredibly important to me and the way I want to bring up my children, but Father Christmas is fun.

Last year's festive season was a bit odd for me and Ms nRollDave, as our little one was due at the start of Jan and Ms nRD had severe morning sickness pretty much all the way through, plus this thing called SPD which basically means your pelvis hurts like f*ck.

on top of that we had everyone telling us (everyone you know suddenly reveals themselves to be an expert on childbirth once you tell them you are expecting ) that, with it being our first, it was BOUND to come early....so we're thinking all through Xmas "aaaaany minute now..."

Plus I was convinced it would snow and we'd be snowed in, with me delivering the baby myself like some episode of Emmerdale...

So last year was a non-event as far as Christmas is concerned.
This year, however, our girl will be nearly one, and whilst she won't understand why, she'll have a load of exciting new toys to play with and we'll have a great time fussing over the poor, bemused lamb!
