its really annoying when you tell a funny joke expecting everyone to laugh and proclaim how witty it was only for someone to kill themselves because of it - only the very best comedians can save one of those

I suspect there is a link. And apart from how the pranksters feel and are handled by their employers, I suspect the attitude of the hospital management to the poor girl in the post hoax period is going to come under a lot of scrutiny.

I find it hard to believe that the prank was the direct cause for the suicide. May be a contributing factor, the straw that broke the camels back, but the DJs cant really have known that this would be the outcome.

However, lying to a healthcare professional to obtain personal information that's none of your or anyone elses business still makes them scunts really.

    The prank? Maybe not.
The fallout from the press coverage and the subsequent response from her employers? Quite possibly.

I'd assume there would be a very specific set of protocols and procedure in place for royal situations. If she didn't follow that then I imagine the finger will be pointing at her

I can well imagine she'd have had a massive bollocking, deserved or not, in the last 24 hours. Plus it's christmas, so she may have been struggling financially. Add those to someone already feeling depression and you have a problem waiting to happen. Very sad

Why is humiliating someone in this way and airing it without their permission even legal? And why has humiliating people become entertainment in recent years?

Some reports are doubting that it is legal; we'll see in time I suppose.

    Very sad news

Looks like the hospital were very supportive of her.
