Default FS -PRS CE24 1989 Pre Factory - Chainsaw Pickup

    Hi There

Up for sale is my 1989 PRS CE24 which is one of the Pre Factory era models. I has been around the block and is not for those who like their PRS without a mark on them. Having said that it is a real honey with a unique tone.
This has got the Chainsaw Neck Pickup which has plenty of power but is still very clear and seems to be very sought after by the folks over at Birds and Moons. The neck pickup I believe is a Vintage Bass.
The maple neck has quite a lot of fingerboard wear although the frets are ok. The headstock has the PRS Electric logo. There is very little lacquer left on the back of the neck but actually I like that.
The tone pot is modded so that you get a single coil when it is set to 10. Everything below that gives you humbucker tones.

A genuine PRS case is included.

Here is a video of the guitar to give you an idea of the sounds

I am selling this guitar to fund the purchase of another PRS so therefore no trades I'm afraid.

Looking for £750 delivered in the UK only.

It was my first PRS, which i stupidly sold back in the early 90's.
Now it's back with me again, I shall be restoring it to its former glory.
She's now in Mansons being rewired to Mccarty style switching.. 3 way and pull/push tonepot.
I'm lethal with a soldering iron and the last time i used one, it cost me for a new tee shirt and living room carpet
Had a chat with Paul Day last night who owned it before Mark, he fitted some weird little black box that scoops out all the mid giving the guitar an acoustic like tone when the volume is turned down.
I'm not a fan of that tone so thats being ripped out and I'll probably swap out the P'ups at some point too.
The body will probably be refinished at a later date, as who ever did the respray (its okish but not a prs colour) should be be publically flogged for his shoddy work.
I'm leaving the neck as it is coz it tells a story and feels quite tactile with the worn finish.
Im undecided what P'ups to go in there yet but as i like the tone of a Duncan JB in my other Alder bodied CE24, i might slap one in the bridge to see how it sounds.
The chainsaw will end up on a PRS forum or ebay as its the reason i didnt bond with the guitar in the first place.
I dont mind messing with this one as its a keeper.

    Hi Norm
Glad that this one found it's way back to you.
Will shortly be reinvesting in a McCarty Rosewood, so I guess everyone's happy.
A pleasure doing business with you.
    Regards
    Mark
