Sad news indeed, I actually still have my copy of "In Search of Space" and still marvel at some of the inventive things they were all doing.

Haven't heard "In Search of .." for nearly 40 years - ah that sleeve - saw them live about that time too which I think permanently warped my musical imagination. (no Stacia preforming that time !)
Not sure if Huw LL was with them then - their first album was really good too - Hurry on Sundown still runs through my head sometimes.. and with the madness that is YouTube here I am listening to it now

oh bollox, now I'm listening to master of the universe and I feel my head exploding - sod the diy tasks then

He's mentioned below the list of band members "Huw, Collin and Bill: Strong arms and electric heads" , not sure if he's part of the road crew at this point, roadies and electricians? I thought "In Search of Space" was their first album, now I'll have to check out wiki and youtube.....

What a shame. Hawkwind were good fun to say the least...

Yeah, sad news. I met him a couple of times and he seemed like a really nice guy.

He left before In Search of Space, I think as a result of a massively bad trip at their Isle Of Wight gig in 71.
