So ... cancer = you die, treatment = you die but it's more strung out and your life isn't that good. I'd reject the treatment, but in the meantime I'd party.

However that's my choice and I'm in my mid 50s. What a child would choose I can't say, neither would I want to be the arbiter of whatever his mum chose for him.

How does a court think it has the right to judge the right or wrong of a mother's choice?

    Neon? No, surely not?

Actually you're right, I've just checked. What the fuck we're they thinking?

I suppose when the life of a child (who can't decide for himself legally) is at stake, then it seems the most rational thing to do. The Doctors/hospital has a duty of care to his/their patient and he obviously feels he's doing the right thing by asking the courts to decide.

    Interesting case

Who cares most about the child - the mother, the court, or the medics?

    How are you measuring it?

There are, AFAIK, no SI units for it. Whichever way you measure it I'd guess the mother comes up top.

Enough to let her son die?

So much she would let him die rather than force him to live.

    Has anyone asked the child?

Yes, I know he's only seven.

If anyone has I'll bet it's his mother.
