The Nova System has great delays, reverbs and modulations but I really didn't like mine into the front of the amp - sounded much better in the loop but that means you can't use the drives. Why on earth TC thought it was a good idea not to put a loop on the Nova, thereby preventing using it 4CM, I don't know. It would have been a killer unit.

The switches are a bit strange as they engage the effect on release (i.e. when you take your foot off) so, if you're not used to it, it can lead to slight switching delay. I solved those problems by using mine in the loop of a midi preamp and controlling the whole lot with an external midi controller. In the end though I upgraded to a GSP1101 and then an Axe Ultra so the Nova went on t'Bay.

Thanks for the heads up on that Monquixote and I like TC gear but I can't be doing with the switching lag.

Chrisjordan - I wish I could afford an Axe FX II but I'm looking sub-£400

    Cheers all

Boss GT-8,10 and 100 have a decent loop and allow the inserted fx to be placed anywhere you like in the chain.

i've got a GT-8 and it works well in the loop for me once i'd spent a few hours working out how to use it. FX are OK for me but i'm not too much of an fx tone hound but for £85 it sorts out all my modulation and delay needs with a volume pedal thrown in for free. generally I use it on manual mode.

Boss ME-X has lots of great Boss sounds and let's you use 3 additional pedals of your choice in three separate loops.

Second hand G System, and by a mile. The switching options are amazing and allow you the sort of luxury previously only availiable to people who bought big, hand wired switchboards of the type seen at the feet of major rock stars. 4 loops handle plenty of pedals and the sounds are top rate.

Cheers and this one is getting more attractive by the minute. It's alittle more than I would want to spend but they do come in secondhand for £550. Mmmmmm
