Default Can you fit a Fender Twin Reverb with an FX Loop?

Right, i'm getting closer to deciding what amp I want next!
Its down to a Blues Deluxe or a Twin

Ideally I want a twin, but the lack of FX loop is abit of a ballache...
Basically I run my other 'Rock' rig around a TC G Major (soon to be a G Major 2) - get all my delays from it, use the EQ occasionally, and take care of all my level boosts with it also.
I'm planning on getting a twin/deluxe for the cleans, and to use it as a pedal platform... Think my Wampler Ecstasy for light crunch, a blackstar HT Dual or Suhr Riot for a little more dirt, and obviously no rig is complete without a nice tube screamer!
Thinking it would be nice to incorporate my TC into this set up, just for a level boost for lead stuff, and for some nice delay/chorus

That'd be fine with the deluxe as its fitted stock with a loop, but i much prefer the twin!
How hard/expensive is it to get one of these fitted after market?

    Cheers guys

I thought that the argument is that for a clean only amp no real point in having an FX loop as the loop places effects between the pre and power amp stages (so that any pre amp distortion can be applied before the effects)?

That's correct. There's no point in a loop on a Twin unless you have effects that only operate at line level. If so you can fit a loop very easily. Otherwise just run all your effects in front.

All I'd want to use is the gmajor for delay, chorus and controlling levels (ie lead level 0db and rhythm level -2db), thats how I run it with my other rig. Would that functiion okay in the front?

You only need a loop in a Twin if you are going to run it hard enough to make it overdrive and if you are doing that you won't be too worried about how your effects sound because you'll be deaf.

    Hahaha very true nick

I dont know enough about amp internals to be sure that I could run my rack gear to full effects, so I had to check!
All this said, i'd still kill for a supersonic, but its probably going to be just a touch out of my price range :\
Still looking to trade yours in?

    Hmm not sure now.
I gigged it yesterday and it sounded epic as it always does at volume.
I'd probably still consider a trade for a Mesa Express, but there isn't much else I'd rather have.

I'd keep that over the Mesa every day of the week... Unless you happen to want to sell your SS to me, that is

hello mate, a few things to consider:

firstly, why do you think a twin is going to be cheaper than a Supersonic? in my experience that's not the case. Twins run £450 to £550 these days with a few idiots on ebay sticking their 90s jobs on at a grand or whatever. That pricing goes for Silverface, red knobs are a bit cheaper, and the "Twin Amp" should run about the same.

I looked at a 60W Supersonic combo the other day for £550 and the guy told me he'd take an offer. I'm happy to hook you up with him.

Secondly, be aware that impedance matters on inputs. most amps want a high impedance input, but most line level signals are low impedance. if you run them straight into the amp they tend to sound sharp and brittle with an excess of highs. i had a lot of experience trying to run rack effects in front of my Hiwatt. In the end you have to use a reamping box to get the levels and impedance right and for it to sound right.

Thirdly, be aware that all Twins since about 1982 have effects loops so you may not have an issue. The Rivera era Twin II has great cleans even if i didn't like the distortion.
