Default Do we still Jam ? Have a go on this

Haven't seen any jams posted on here for a while but I used to enjoy em when they happened. So here's a little Latin type thing to have a whizz over, not the greatest backing cos I made it in my office but good enough

Here's the backing track in Dm :

And here's me having a go on it :

That's my Les Paul straight into the PC with a Sanamp plugin

So come on then have a go and post em here

Heres a wee attempt on bass, with a Jaco style preset on my zoom pedal. I have literally no soloing ability. And my timing goes off a bit here and there - mainly because I found it quite hard to hear the beat of the backing track - but I soldiered through! This was literally first take for recording after I had played through the backing a few times. Just wanted to get the ball rolling for others!

    cheers Danny!

edit: Just listened back to it there again, Jesus I really do only have 2 licks! Very samey all the way through!

That's great Fraz, I can hear more than 2 licks, pretty insane for bass actually. The breakdown part and the end bit are awesome. That tone is very Jaco as well, very cool

Downloaded the backer. I'll see about having a quick noodle after work tomorrow.

Cool backing track .. Danny you nailed a Santana style sound [the chord progression sounds like Smooth] .. liked the licks and the tone.

funkyfraz - nice idea for a bass solo .. some cool licks. Maybe higher in the mix and maybe a little something to lift the basic tone like fuzz or chorus etc.

    I'll have bash tomorrow ..

    I hate these threads.
They are always a reminder that I am absolutely shit at jamming and always have been. Give me a song to play and I'll play it, that's fine. But new band situations? Jamming with mates over a riff? Nah. I'm stuck.

I will happily swap you, Fraz. You've got some mad runs going on there!

    Botheration.

    Awesome!

Thankfully I don't have the facility to record myself jamming but if I get the guitar out later I'll give it a go in private. Thanks to Danny for posting the backing.

How do I add this track into amplitude or garageband so I can have a go?
