I A/B'd a BF-2 and a reissue FL-9, both good pedals I thought (and both about £45), but stuck with the FL-9. Yeah it's a tiny bit noisier, but it does vibey/chorusy/shimmery stuff better and feels more solid. The Boss I thought did bonkers flange and rotary sounds more justice.

Phase pedals...mmmm...I love phase me. The simplicity of a Nano Stone suited me for ages, then I went for more knobs and craziness with an Ibanez PM-7 which is very, very pleasing - although it's one of them pedals you need to sit down with and dig around for what yer after.

    Which of course is why it's called a BF-2 and not a FL-2 .

    I like Bonkers Flange .

I'm looking for a flanger. I had the micro flanger and would recommend it, but it bugged me not having a manual control. I don't understand flangers, but I know that haven't found one that sounds like the sound in my head - which is a Dendixy slow flange, or an EJ High Landrons thing. I tried the TC Vortex and absolutely hated it. The Boss was almost good enough.

Top of my list right now is the Joyo flanger which sounds better than anything else I've tried recently.
