Default Pedals with no external controls...

Apologies if these have come up before, but has anyone come across these?

    http://www.henrettaengineering.com/H.../Products.html

They have different internal trim pots for settings, but other than that they have the smallest footprint I've seen on a pedal. I like his nano board with all of them on!

I have to say though, for the money I'd rather have some external control on parameters such as on the side or top of the pedal. Also, I wonder how simple the circuit board is for these? Certainly it is reasonably dense for my malekko omicron fuzz, but for a really simple fuzz or boost it may be doable as a project.

Don't like the thought of an Auto filter with no sensitivity control. Swapping guitars would be a pain.
I think a buffer is the only thing I'd want with no knobs.

Same here. I use very few "set and forget" effects, so I'd rather them be slightly bigger with external controls.

Still if you're happy to sacrifice functionality for quantity then that could be the way to go.

It's a nice idea but only having trim pots would be too much of a ball ache for me.

Pretty much my thinking. it might be acceptable if there was a couple of bore holes drilled in the side so you could access them with a screwdriver, but it might not be doable, especially since most of the box is probably switch and jack sockets...

Really cute, especially the 6 effects in one box thing, but not really a whole lot of use for most people, myself included

There are many pedals I use that I could happily live without external controls on. I'd prefer them to be screwdriver-accessible without taking the pedal off the board though.

I suspect you wouldn't want these as your only or main effects, but they do look dead handy for when you just want to squeeze an extra box onto your board for one preset sound, and there's no room for a standard pedal.

I'm still trying to work out how they fit them in though, it was hard enough for me to get a switch, a jack, an LED and a resistor into that size of box when I made an amp channel switch!

I used to make AB pedals in them - with an LED and power socket. Lose one 1/4" jack and you could easily fit an SMD circuit board in. If you did 'em as buffered bypass you could use a tiny switch and get even more space.

Hmmm...if they give the right sounds, and you've got lots of money, they could be the perfect partner for one of those programmable loop pedals. You could fit loads of them on your board, and you'd potentially end up with a very flexible rig.

Seems like a bit of a ball-ache, mind. The only other advantage they have over normal pedals is that there's zero chance of your drummer resetting your entire effects chain by stumbling over your board.

    +1

I mean I'm very much in the "set and forget" mould, but only having trims would get very annoying, very fast, i think.
