    This is mine ...

Bought direct from JJ a few years ago. I sold a Gibson LP DC faded (another 2 P90 guitar) and kept this one, mainly due to the p'ups. There was nothing wrong with the Gibbo (and one day, McToot will give it back to me), but the JJ had something extra. Amazing power from the p'ups, raw but clear, will easily drive an amp for a nice dirty sound when you turn them up to 10, but they're not mushy/fuzzy. No-nonsense finish, just a thin satin coat, simple mahogany/mahogany construction with the (allegedly) ancient rosewood board.

It's also just about the lightest guitar I have - which was important when I had a dodgy disc in my back.

I recently acquired another JJ (through this forum), a gold-topped one with a neck P90 and bridge mini-HB. That's another great piece of guitar engineering.

What/where are you looking at one (I'm not in the market for buying!)

Thanks TT,that`s a nice looking guitar !I`m liking the look of the raw mahogany ones but I`m only going on photos.
Just wondering what the overall feel is ! Gibsonish,Eggle-like ?
Don`t know why, but they just look like a good ,lightweight ,straightforward guitar !
Can`t find a one to look at,one will turn up no doubt though .

i have one too- like TTony's, but black. I also bought direct from JJ.

I like mine a lot. Only real flaw is the pickups (which aren't horrible, but considering how nice the guitar is, i'd say it deserves nicer). Also, when i last restrung it, I noticed the bridge seemed to be "made in korea". Again, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the stock bridge or anything like that, but again, considering how nice the guitar is, a nice Gotoh or schaller or something like that might be considered to be more appropriate. of course, that might be getting into TGP levels of OCD about quality of guitar gear (and I'd point out that I haven't upgraded either the pickups or the bridge yet ).

i'd say it's more gibson-like in feel than eggle, but i'm not sure i'd say it's really that much like either.

I like mine a lot- if you can get one at a good price like i did (i paid around £400 IIRC), they're really nice indeed. As TTony says, super light, which is nice.

i'm actually not sure if mine was NOS/ex-demo or second-hand, to be honest. it's in absolutely mint condition, though, so at the price i paid I don't really care either way. But I wouldn't want to bank on definitely getting a new one for £400, kind of thing.

Emailed them for prices so will find out soon enough.
What finish is applied to the neck ?

They're certainly not common. I just took a look at the JJ website and they're quoting a 9 month lead time for new ones now.

Guitars 4 you had a couple of s/h JJs in stock a couple of weeks ago - but not this model.

You might find them appearing on evilBay I suppose.

Just a thin satin finish. Wonderfully tactile. I don't like it when the guitar is suffocated under layers of "finish", although others would hate the feel of raw wood!
