Default New Build or I can't buy what I want so I'm building it instead. Project Capsicum....

So I've been after a nice simple fat necked Tele style guitar for ages. I have a Kotzen Tele and love it, just wanted something in that ballpark with a hint of my love for my old 1970 Jazzmaster.

I've been slowly getting my stuff together to build this and am nearing having everything I need to finish the build. Just waiting for some more hardware to arrive from the States and then I'll get it all bolted together and set up. But I have started to get some finish on to the body and today my neck arrived, so I thought I would share.

Just a note to say I'm only just under half way with the body colour and have been building it up slowly and leaving 24 hours between coats.

Looks interesting. Are you going for standard type Tele pups and controls?

Warmoth neck with stainless steel frets and boat profile. Pickups are from Oil City /Weasel / Ash of this parish (I've been looking for a good excuse to try these out for ages) and controls will be pretty basic as I am a luddite.

    Going for nickel hardware throughout.

I may well build another if this one turns out how I want it. Rosewood would be good.

If you don't mind my asking how much do you reckon it will come to, all in? (a rough breakdown would be even better )

I think self-builds are the way forward ATM!

Got a nickel Wilkinson compensated 3 brass saddle job on order from the US and it won't be here till sometime in January, so am still scoping out options. Just been trying to avoid chrome hardware and no one in the UK has the nickel ones left.

I would say off the top of my head price wise I'm into around the £500 plus mark, I haven't totalled it all up yet as will need to factor in customs fees etc.

Spent the money on getting what I wanted i.e quality pickups, neck, body and nice hardware Tonepros tuners, nice knobs!

Once its all finished I will get a total up with a breakdown of costs.
