Yeah, craft foam only goes so far Dented a fret once which was bloody annoying.

Not a fan of Hiscox cases. Not that they aren't strong, but the handle fell off the first one rendering it useless, and the other I've got that came with a 335 had a hole in the case where the bridge-end strap button is. I've had lots of other nondescript cases that have lasted longer. Currently have my Martin in a Gator case and haven't had any issues.

I dont think anyone (in their right mind) would question the protection factor of a Hiscox (I have two) but they is a bit 'ugly'. I much prefer the aesthetics of the luggage style, especially for acoustics, and I am, after all - very style conscious

The majority of my cases are Gator, though I also have a Stagg (for Les Pauls) and a SKB Tanglewood case (which I originally bought for my smaller scale Takamine... I never anticipated buying a Tanglewood but I did in the end and what do you know, I have a actual Tanglewood SKB case exactly the right size! Ha!

My Cort sports a Gator, which used to also be shared by my Ibanez Artwood and my Fender CD60. I've had that for some time now. It's a decent case. Not even a scratch on it and it's travelled the world. Same with the SKB

I have several Hiscox cases have rated and used them for years, but I also rate the Gator ATA cases very highly which cost about the same and have better catches IMO.

Its a personal thing, I wouldn't choose anything but a Hiscox, its also an image or badge thing with me, I'm a bit daft like that tbh. If it has a Hiscox badge on it says something about whats inside, it usually means someone has something well worth protecting, I have no idea were I got that view from, it may be misguided I don't know, but if I see someone with a Hiscox I get that slight rush , you know, when you see something special, and I'm usually even more interested about what its carrying.
I doubt, therefore I might be!

I think there may be something in that, since people don't usually spend £70+ on a specialist hard case unless they have something worth protecting.

I have 3 one for acoustic, which i have had for 24 years now, and has survived a rolling car, which prompted me to buy Hiscox for my electrics.

I have Caltons, Hiscoxs and Gators. The Calton is the best at keeping moisture out and is strong enough for me to stand on it while it contains a custom made Brazillian rosewood Abe Wechter accoustic. The Hsicoxs are also pretty indistructable and one has protected by Lowden for 20 years without any troubles.

Not a fan of Gators myself, I've only had two hardcases actually break on me and they were both Gators. Hiscox, on the other hand - owned loads, never had anything break (and I don't treat them well )
