Default For sale: Matchless Independence 35 Head + Matchless 2x12 ES212, Handwired 240v

Selling both for £2300, or just the Head for £1800
If necessary, I will reserve the cab for the buyer until they can buy it too

The amp is in Cheshire near the M6 Junction 18 & 19

Head at world guitars = £2750
Cab at World Guitars = £799
    Total = £3549

I am offering the usual one-third discount for used (normally, Matchless aren't so cheap used)

This amp sounds amazing. But I prefer my DC30
includes fitted amp covers, and Matchless fooswitch needed for channels 2 & 3
I would quite like to keep the cab, and would knock off £500 if you want only the head
I have swapped the OD preamp valve for a lower-gain one, so currently it goes to more 70s rock sounds rather than 80s, this is easily changed back before sending it out to you

Phil at Matchless advises that this amp MUST NOT be rewired to diff voltage, since the channel-switch footswitch circuit has its own taps. Therefore do not buy an 110v and think to use a step-down transformer.
This amp is a genuine UK-voltage from new amp, and works fine. This is an amp I love, but don't play enough

    Matchless site text:

The Independence 35 is the first 35 watt 3 channel guitar amplifier in Matchless’ history! In addition to the signature backlit nameplate, the three channels light up red, white, and blue. Channel one (blue) is powered by one 12AX7 with a volume and tone control. Channel two (white) is powered by one 12AX7 and will provide ample chunk and high-gain lead. Channel three (red) is all about fire. The master volume control is by-passable and features a cut control to thicken up and shave the highs.
The power section of the Independence starts with a 5AR4 rectifier tube and the 35 watt output is powered by two EL34s, which are cathode self biasing. A 3 position rotary switch allows for 4, 8, & 16 ohm output. The channels are switched through one footswitch.

    ES212 2x12 Extension Cab
Matchless speaker cabinets are manufactured using the best available raw materials from the wood down to the speaker components. Our speakers are modified in-house to produce our signature tone. Each cabinet is voiced to produce the best possible tone for the size and power rating of the unit. We use the best available 11 ply Baltic birch wood and the toughest grade vinyl. Baffle designs are optimally tuned to produce maximum clean headroom and smooth overdrive.

    would trade for upmarket guitars

Not dedicated metal ones unless they are baritones that sound very nice clean, eg Alnico EMGs

Tom Anderson, Suhr, PRS, etc. I like to see the woodgrain

or acoustics. Lowdens, USA brands, etc
