Default Any other fatties trying to shift a few kilos ?

I've decided that enough is enough and I have to halt the progress of my ever expanding waistline. In 2010 I was 83kg, now, I'm 96kg, and most of that has gone on since my heart attack, despite going to the gym, which is not a good move. I need to be making it easier on the ticker, not stuffing my chops like I'm on some kind of suicide mission.

I was watching the Hairy Bikers last night and I might copy their plan - i.e. join Slimming World or w.h.y. and cook some of their recipes. I just ordered their book.

Anyone else trying to become a racing snake this year ?

its easy for me, drink less and eat less 'nibbles' - my normal food diet is pretty healthy

Lasst year I stopped drinking so much white wine, and went on gin and slimline. Lost a stone in a month

I'm going to avoid the constant supply of cakes at work. And otherwise not worry too much.

I am of the generous proportions brigade (sounds better than fat git, although that's what I am). Collar size now 18.5" ffs, never mind the waist. Diet is healthy enough, processed foods are rare, take away once every three weeks and plenty of fresh fruit and veg including home grown. But the sedatory lifestyle and lack of regular gigging over the last year or so has taken it's toll. I try to walk most days and cycle for exercise but the snacks are my downfall, I still eat like I'm very active which I'm clearly not anymore.
This month sees another attempt to correct my behavior.

I was astonished of the calorie count on salted/roasted nuts, tis one of the things I miss..

well in the end I didn't go too mad over xmas and ended up 5 stone lighter than I was Aug 2012, that has mainly come from diet over exercise(although I do a lot of toning stuff now).. I just cut stuff out, changed the way I cook, less take outs, no snacking or fruit/fat free yog if I do...

your state of mind has a lot to do with it too, I didn't give a monkeys what I ate/drank but knew I was over doing it, then all of a sudden I said no more.
