Default Some Girls concert [The Rolling Stones]

I am a Stones fan but I was disappointed by the Some Girls concert footage recently broadcast on tv. The band members seemed to be going through the motions with little attempt to connect with their audience. One female fan was filmed gyrating in an almost uncontrolled manner, I suspect she was a plant and her reaction to the music was not genuine. The audience seemed to enjoy the show, maybe it was better than the footage showed, I sure hope so.

Perhaps the band had an 'off' night......

I'm a big fan, and I thought this was very lacklustre.

I didn't really pay attention to the audience reaction, so I can't comment on that, but I wasn't very impressed by the band on this occasion.

I saw it three or four months ago on Sky Arts. I saw it was repeated recently and wasn't even remotely tempted to record it.

Hyde Park is better, as is the more recent Four Flicks.

    (Charlie was good though.)

Not seen it, but I just watched the brief advert for it on YouTube and it looked great (clever edit no doubt)

Was this on one of these new fangled satellite/cable channels or one of the 'proper' ones (I'm just a jealous freeview watcher so I don't get all the good stuff people mention on here).

It's out on DVD, so therefore it's probably on YT too.

Have you seen "ladies and gentlemen" and "stones in exile"?

There's a DVD pack out with those two and the "Some Girls" DVD as well.

I've got some (what used to be called) record tokens for crimbo I need to spend before HMV finally go bust.

"Ladies and Gentlemen" I've seen, not the Exile one.

I thought was good, certainly better than the Some Girls show.

I'd recommend "Let's Spend the Night Together" that's great.

I tried watching Some Girls but its not great. Also watched the Muddy Waters plus the Stones thing on SkyArts. Interesting as a historical artifact maybe but not a great concert. Muddy himself is awesome and his band are great but then we have a fairly dull jam for the large part and quite a lot of Lefty Dizz. I'm sure Lefty is a lovely guy but on a stage with Muddy Waters and the Rolling Stones I'm not sure Lefty is who we wanted to see the most of.

My other recent SkyArts viewing was the BB King last London concert one with Slash and Mick Hucknall, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi. That's pretty awful, although Susan could sing the phone book and it would sound great.

HMV dont sell music DVDs anymore. I went there for celebration day and live at river plate, and couldnt get either. Had to go on ebay, sadly.
