    Default Mambo Amps

These seem to be causing quite a stir in the jazz guitar community as ultra-light, loud, good sounding amps at very reasonable prices. They're British as well which means they are probably good value for money if you're a Brit (lots of US jazzers seem to be willing to pay the cost of importing them).

I'm intrigued but I'm not enough of an out and out jazzer to want to pay for a specialist jazz amp - I'd want to know it did a good job of handling other styles. Anyone had the chance to try one and have an opinion?

    Details here.

Thought this post was looking lonely! Interesting link, I suppose a lot of more rock based guitarists wouldn't look favourably upon a 1x10 or even a 1x8 combo for gigging however loud it got but the idea of a small, light clean only combo that takes FX/multi FX well for a wider variety of styles always seems like a good idea to me.

I guess £600 is either silly money for a small SS combo or really good value for a specialist jazz amp (especially when the competition is being imported from the US) depending upon your point of view.

Not tried one, but they look nice! I agree that having something that is v loud and v clean would be great for some styles - and if it can handle fx well too then double bonus.

But, I can't help thinking the ZT Lunchbox already does this kind of thing, for a fair but less wedge - but not in such a pretty case.
