The conductor said I could get my bookbag and run around the hallway with it.

Looks quite cheap and cheerful. Any idea on price? If they are to be marketed as "my first effects pedal" or whatever then they could do well. If they consider them to be serious competition to the big boys then they need to fire someone in the design department...

The small ones look like a crap 1980s range I can't remember the name of now. (Not helpful I know! I spent some time searching as well.)

I was hoping for something like a modern version of the Fender Blender or the volume/tone pedal the size of the top deck of the Ark Royal...

I can kinda see the design cues, but it's gone all wrong. Not that that matters, you stamp on the bloody things! To be honest, nowadays, there are very few bad effects pedals. I can't imagine these will be bad, either, but proof is in the toanz.

I'd have liked to have seen something whackier (like the blender but new and original) t chorus and drive has its uses...

Arion? They have that same very 'plasticky' look!

They look quite cheap and generic looking.

I think Fender are missing a trick here. Having owned quite a few Fender amps a lot of them are very picky about which pedals they take. Releasing a "Fuzz that doesn't sound shit into a Deluxe Reverb" pedal or an "Distortion that won't sound fizzy into a twin" (Riot anyone?) would be an absolute winner.

No... something like "Pro Tek" or similar. I can't remember though. Quite possible that the Fender designers never saw one anyway.

But very difficult. The problem is the treble pass cap in the reverb mixer stage of the BF/SF circuit, and it's very difficult to fix that from in front of the amp - or not without making it sound muddy into an amp without the same circuit.

Maybe a switch on the pedal to kill all the high top-end when going into a BF amp would work, though...

I'm sure it's difficult, but I expect Fender could stick a bit of R&D money and come up with something interesting rather than dropping another TS clone on the market. Suhr seem to have made a good pedal for a Twin.
