Thanks and I'll try one with my rig to see how it suits as it sounds like I get to keep what I like and get what I'm after too. I am aware of its slightly larger size though.

    I'll keep you posted.

So essentially most of his pedals are clones of other designs?

    It would seem so.

I know there are other people/companies who do this, but the way he goes about it just sticks in my craw for some reason.

    Just to illustrate:

Lovepedal are one of the few companies I've yet to try (although I am thinking about trying a superlead or redhead)

Although the design changes in that diagram look minimal, anyone with a background in electronics will see that the basic features are common to loads of drive pedals and the time taken to investigate and test the changes arent insignificant.

When I buy a pedal I'm paying for the time the designer spent coming up with the tweaks AND the quality of construction - if it's well built and the sound matches my need then I'm happy.
Awesome - rock mashups and covers
Nitro - 80's hair metal covers

    That's fair enough, John.

    I don't like it and think he's a rip-off cowboy.

For "boutique" it's Catalinbread all the way for me

I've got an MXR GT-OD on loan at the moment. Sounds very nice. That bloke Gregor Hilden (Greg's Guitars, youtube), uses an Okko Diablo a lot, and gets some great low-gain overdrive tones.

been through a load of low gain od's and reckon the okko diablo is easily the best, so transparent; stunning.

I think I've found one I like - the Wampler Ecstasy (Euporia) pedal. With the gain between 9 - 12 o'clock, it sounds good and spanky on all 3 settings (Smooth, Open & Crunch), but I like the Smooth option best. I also like the pedal when you crank the gain and it's very versatile and responds well to guitar volume changes, but it's pricey new. I just need to try it with my OCD to see if they stack well together.

Anyone got one for sale or trade (possibles = Keeley TS-808, Zoom MS-50G Multi Stomp, Polytune Mini Noire)
