You drive a hard bargain. I'm going to consult with my financial adviser and get back to you.

I've been through this. Basically wanted a Les Paul about 12 years ago but convinced myself that something similar would do. I've had various Les Paul-ish guitars including a very respectable Gorden Smith Graduate which sounded ace but they weren't Gibsons. I even got a 335 convincing myself I didnt need a lester but this year I just realised what I should have done all along and went out and did it with a 59 reissue.

Still the honeymoon period so dont expect a measured review but I have to say god, that tone through a cranked valve amp sends shivers down my spine.

My only regret ?- the obvious one really, of not doing it 12 years ago. Life is too short.

Arsebiscuits. I pulled the trigger on a used ebony traditional (2010) from Guitarguitar only to discover someone walked into the shop an hour before and bought it. I had negotiated £930 on it too which I think was pretty good.

They have a used goldtop standard for roughly the same price...but if there's a gayer guitar than a goldtop then I don't know what it is.

Rox you gotta stop flashin' that Burny about, thing giving me hot flashes!

I also agree with your earlier post about getting top quality guitars for 1/4 of the price, I would of put that custom in terms of craftsmanship above many a Gibson and I've had a few.

Now you gotta see Ians 2012 Honeyburst that thing is incredible he did a silly thing putting it in my hands didn't wanna give it back but I was too scared to play it... Gibson do have their quality but there's stuff out there just as good with a bit of that magic in there.

Im a huge fan of a decent LP (arn't we all) and that extends to most of the Chinese Burnys too, they're kicking ass in that department.

    do miss that Custom some
