    Thanks! I have replied.

This is now sale only as I have sourced an appropriate instrument (I hope!).

    Or not????

Buyer very close offer to asking price at 14:19. I accepted at 14:21, and at 14:31 I get this message

'apologies but i will not be able to afford this item due to a circumstantial issue.please accept my humblest regrets and i am truly sorry if this has caused you an inconvenience.'

That was a quick circumstantial issue? Or should I be concerned about a scam?

Yes it is, have replied to your PM.

On ebay at the minute -

'Sorry, it's too early to open an unpaid item case for this transaction.
An unpaid item case can be opened 4 days after the transaction date. You'll be able to open a case after 19-Jan-13 14:21 GMT.'

Do I have to honor the sale until 2:21pm Saturday in case he changes his mind, and then report him? Or can I cancel the transaction now?

I don't think so. You've got proof he doesn't want it from his email to you. I guess you can just relist it as normal.

Its ok I've sorted it, I cancelled the sale and he accepted. It is re-listed on Ebay at the same price £465, but I've removed the best offer function this time on Ebay.

Price for forum members is as before £430 cash on collection from Middleton, Manchester.
