    Matt,
    Yep, there quite a difference between my BV and the smaller cabs...but the CD2 is a better amp than the Tweedy,
    and the same weight...

    visit coda and listen to them and compare... Awesome sounds, and awesome service from Doug and the team...

    TBH- I didn't try the different models, the larger ones fell into my 'too heavy' classification, and I sat and tried swart (lovely, but no mv capability which, let's face it, limits what you can do). I also noticed that contrary to the redplate website, the tweedyverb has a 40w/17w switch which is cool. I also tried a Two Rock. Beautiful sound, and I thought, oh dear, I really really like this. But then I switched back to the redplate, closed eyes so as not to be influenced by logo, and although there was an inevitable difference because of speakers and cab sizes, on the BF settings the Tweedy came very close. Plus it was 300 cheaper and probably 10 plus pounds lighter. Plus it will do that lovely BF sound, and, it does the tweed deluxe tones and deluxe distortion behaviours really well, so that means I can move on the tweed deluxe.

    So, I'm very pleased. I'm intrigued by the terrific oomph you get when you switch out the presence circuit, and I love the idea of being able to footswitch between BF and tweed. It just oozes quality sound and it's such a beautiful piece of engineering - lots of fun to come.

    And it's sooooo unbelievably compact. Here's a pic of it next to the deluxe, which isn't exactly a large amp! Looks like a practice amp - joy

    Great photo mate !

    The Redplates look so innocent and small don't they ? Amazing the sounds and bite that comes from within...

    its also quite surprizing the array of sounds that you can get from them.

    Hi Matt, CD2 (and matching 1x12) on order from Henry. End of March I think, but they are truly awesome amps !!!

    I actually think that they are very good value for money... What are your fave settings mate ?

    I played my Blackverb last night and simply;

    1. Clcked the bass off (ie full tone stack)
    2. Clicked the presence off

    so, just volume and master volume. That's it !

    truly amazing sounds...

    Off to Coda again tomorrow to try the Astro Dust again, along with the Blackverb Duo and CD3. See what comes of it.

    I have to say they're going to have to be good, my Ceriatone Dumble clone was very very good at band rehearsal tonight. I could easily just stick with that and a few pedals, but the Astro Dust got under my skin a little when I tried it before and I need to give it another go. It might come home with me or it might not, I'm going to try to be dispassionate, thoroughly objective and level headed about it!!
