Cool Recommend me some modern blues

I'm eagerly awaiting the new Gary Clark Jnr album, but what other hip young things are out there breathing new life into the blues

So recommendation please, and here's a bit of Gary to start off with.

Nice one. There's 4 track EP (Bright Lights) I think it's just £1.99 on iTunes, and the album "blak and blu" is released in the UK in Feb (you can get it on import now).

Saw him play at Hard Rock Calling last summer, so really looking forward to the full album.

New Oli Brown album ("Here I Am") is satisfying. Great player, excellent tone, good voice. Saw him a few years back, the boy is a cut above.
Nasty, brutish and slightly above average height

I have a couple of modern blues compilations in the car I had on during my travels today. Very few of the tracks make it to repeat play - lot of widdle and silly lyrics about cheatin' women.Mr Clark is a good choice, Oli Brown has his own thing going, Joanne Shaw Taylor is always good, Philip Sayce (if at the rockier end)stands out.Always happy to recommend the last couple of albums by James Hunter (People Gonna Talk or The Hard Way, new album due March 2013), although not modern in a blues rock sense but the quality of vocals and the feel make him heads above the widdle/cheatin' merchants. I still keep going back to Walter Trout's Blues For The Modern Daze. I always thought he was a one trick pony but this really stands above what I've heard of his previous work.

Anything by Lil Ed and the Blues Imperials, probably the best Chicago style bar band you've ever heard. okay, mostly 12 bars and back to the songs about cheatin' women but they do it right.

EDIT: my youtube video didn't work. Oh well.Oh +1 for Ian Siegal

I was just about to post Gary Clark Jr and then noticed it was in the OP.

I'm not really a modern blues fan, but Derek Trucks is a quite staggeringly good slide player and his wife Susan Tedeschi is a great singer.
