Thanks all, some stuff there I don't know so I'll check 'em out.

I've got the Trucks/Tedeschi Revelator album, and to be honest I find it a bit dull. The live clips I've seen on youtube are fantastic (inc that one posted above), but I find the album just lacks something (great playing from Del boy though)

Susan Tedeschi's back to the River album ( from about 3 years ago) is highly recommended*. Derek is on there but its 3 or 4 minute polished songs, less of the jamming style of their joint efforts.

I dug out Jimmie Vaughan's Strange Pleasure album last night. Must be 20 years old but in a generic sense it is modern blues and has become a modern classic enough that Steve Miller has covered a couple of the songs. If you've never heard that do so now! I think Jimmie lost the plot a bit after that but it is excellent.

    * there is a so so youtube clip of one of the songs in my sexy funk in a box thread up in FX you might have seen.

I own a fair share of Bonamassa albums and the only one I return to is the one he did with Beth Hart. It's not 100% brilliant but the good bits are very good indeed.

Unfortunately I actually find her voice just a little bit annoying. I know a lot of people love her voice but it just gates on me.

    Genuinely, I'm a fan!

Has anyone mentioned Matt Schofield yet? How about Scott Henderson for something a bit more exotic?

I'm in the luuuv section. Commonest complaint is that she sounds too like Bonnie Rait. Maybe, but I've never really liked any Bonnie Rait record I've ever heard.
