Default Wamplermon - got to buy them all ?

I've got the Pinnacle. It is excellent for the 'Brown' sound. I want the Black '65 for Blackface clean and dirty. Will it cover the Tweed '57 territory ? What about the Super Ecstasy 'Dumble' tones ?

i have the black 65, the tweed 57 and the Ecstasay / Euphoria.

They all do exactly what they say they do, nothing more nothing less, and they all depend on your amp, eg: the black 65 will not turn Marshall AFD into a Fender Twin.

The black 65 does not cover the twin 57 voicing at all, they are totally seperate, don't buy either planning to use it as the other.

there is a reason I own them all.

    they are excellent.

I agree - I have the Pinnacle and the Black 65, have owned the Plextortion (quite like the Pinnacle I found) and the Cranked AC (which I should never have sold).

They are amazing pedals, I'm actually thinking about selling my (mint) Black 65 - so drop me a line if you're interested (I've just come to the top of the King of Tone list so need to generate some funds).

The Black 65 is lovely sounding, I have it on the whole time just at the point of breaking up - it's guitar MSG, just makes everything else sound better - it can go quite high gain, but for me that's not really it's bag.

Oh and just to add - agreed, it's nothing like the other pedals you mention

    I have a SLOstortion and it's brilliant.

Thanks Pete for a good deal. The Black 65 has been an instant hit on my pedalboard. Only used my Strat through the Ampmaker PP18 (2xEL84) so far. It's subtle, but somehow I got that fat Fender flavour - at the flick of a switch! Really something a bit special.

But that now means I am on the lookout for an Ecstasy/Euphoria (will it kick the Zen off my board ?) and after that it will be the Tweed '57.

Offers invited before I head off down the Dock of the Bay.

I've heard very good things about the pinnacle but wasn't blown away by the Paisley Drive, the Plexi Drive was fizzy compared to a Box Of Rock and the Ecstasy for me sounded nothing like the Dumble sound I have in my head and IMO was miles away from a Zendrive. All IMO of coarse

I think with Wampler it really, really depends on the amp they run into.

I sold my first Pinnacle when I had a JCM 900, didn't like it at all.

Kept the Box of Rock instead.

Now I have a Dr Z - they just go together so well.

If my soon to be coming (once customs let it go!) King of Tone doesn't work out, I'm really interested in the new Tom Quayle dual fusion pedal - Two pedals in one get's my vote!

Thanks Peteri for the heads up on the Quayle pedal. Looks interesting and I like the concept, especially as I've been looking at the Euphoria and hoping it would stack well with my Keeley 808, which is close to the Paisley Drive, but not as versatile.

Damn NAMM 2013! I now fancy 2 pedals from it - the Quayle Dual Fusion and the TC Ditto!

    Cheers
