I'm The Daddy Now!
Thanks to all the people who suggested top tips for bringing on labour as the wife duly sprogged on Tuesday evening meaning I am now officially the Daddy!
We called her Martha and she was an eye watering 9 pounds 10 ounces. At that weight you will probably not be surprised to hear that she had to be delivered with forceps so the wife is a bit battered and brused, but Martha was fit as a fiddle and even after 20 hours of labour got 10/10 on her apgar (Test of how healthy a new born is for non parents) which is quite unusual apparently.
I haven't been able to bring them home yet as wifey has been in the wars, but that's probably for the best as I got up this morning to discover the water main outside my house had exploded taking part of the pavement with it!
Hopefully tomorrow will see my new family in my new house.
I'm just so happy and excited at the moment. It's going to be a crazy year.

Hey! Fantastic news man. A little girl - mines 3 months old and melts my heart every single day. Really pleased that all is well for baby and mum . Enjoy your last nights sleep for a while ( I'm sat here feeding at 03:32am!!)

My daughter was 1 on Tuesday! And she was 9lb9oz when she was born...almost exactly the same as your little one

week 2 - Oh no she's sicked on my T-shirt I better get a wipe and clean it off.
week 3 - Gah, she's shit on my leg, just rub it in, it'll be ok.
