    Default Ebay advice

I'm selling a guitar on ebay, I've had three people asking for it to be posted

two in england the other to poland

Most say they will arrange there own courier, if they later on say they have not recieved it what postion would I be in?

I just wanna get the best price so on principle I'm happy to got with it, but I'm just conerned about the possible repurcutions...

Any one had this before with succesful results?

Stuffed. Or if it gets broken in transit they can claim you sent it like that and you'll have no way to claim off the courier.

If you decide you're happy to post it's better to sort it all out on your side.

I've told them all that dispatch would be at there own risk, does that make a difference?

No. Getting the goods to the buyer is *always* at your risk. Ebay/Paypal always sides with the buyer unless you have cast-iron proof and have followed their rules to the letter.

You absolutely must send by a fully-insured, trackable, signed-for delivery service that *you* arrange and pay for, or you are not covered if anything goes wrong or the buyer is a scammer.

Do not send abroad at all unless you're prepared for the hassle/impossibility of making a successful international claim.

I'd hold out for a UK sale, too much risk and I'm sure it'll be a long and frustrating process to sort it out if it does go wrong.

Not if they're intending to scam you- the key thing is if they hold the contract with the courier then you don't have proof of dispatch or delivery, so if there's any trouble you haven't a leg to stand on against ebay

Given you'd have to pack it up anyway, arranging a courier online is 5 minutes extra effort and a couple of bits of paper through the printer. Totally worth it.

Classic scam. Don't agree to it, as others here have said.

Of course it is possible they're genuine buyers. I got my SG that way- organised the courier and was honest when it got here. I just wouldn't want to risk it the other way round personally.

i would say that its fine as ive had a guy from poland buy a few things from me and he sends in his own van and they were paying cash on collection, id say if they pay by bank transfer then it would be fine as you wouldnt get caught on that old paypal scam which i came a cropper to a few years ago...
