You have to follow their terms and conditions to the exact letter, which means using your own trackable, signed-for delivery, or you're not protected in the event of a chargeback attempt for "non delivery". If you cannot produce the tracking number and proof of delivery (not uplift), they don't want to know.
I stand (well sit) corrected. Have never had a problem when I've done it that way, suppose I've been lucky. Not that I send a lot of big stuff, that requires a courier.
I lost a pair of old PRS pickups like that - I sent them internationally without the *full* signed-for trackable delivery service. I could prove they were sent, but not delivered. I still don't know if they were genuinely lost in the post or whether the buyer scammed me... didn't really matter since Paypal's "protection" turned out to be worthless.
I've never done it with expensive stuff, sort that myself so i knOw its fully insured. Usually its just cheap bulky stuff that I'm not that bothered about, usually getting rid of to free space for other junk
I sent an amp to Poland - buyer arranged own courier - no probs - buyer even complimented me on my packing!
