Interesting - although if they're trying to demo pedals, they should turn off the other stuff... it's quite distracting with the phaser and delay on there when you're trying to hear the differences between three quite similar fuzz pedals.

Still, from what I can hear I like the germanium best, followed by the silicon, and the Hendrix least... which is a shame because it is the nicest colour, and I thought it might split the difference between the two. It sort of does, but it somehow falls into the gap - it isn't as full and chewy as the germanium or as tight and grindy as the silicon - it just sounds a bit weaker.

Yes, really hard to hear what's going on but I'm sure he did say $99!

Def said 99dollars my only prob would be whether they are true bypass like the recent mxr one and surely the Hendrix one would be the same as that in the new small casting

It's says on the Dunlop website true bypass. The real surprise for me is that they've managed to squeeze in a battery door! The circuit for the FFM3 is said to the same as the JHF1, which I guess is very similar to the recent 70th Hendrix one, although I'm slightly suspicious of those as I've not been too impressed with the demos and I think someone on here said that underneath the 70th wah it was just a standard crybaby wih none of the expected "tweaks". Can't help thinking these were more about the paint Job.

All Fuzz Faces, including the vintage ones, are true bypass - they have to be. It wasn't done for 'tone' reasons, it's because if you don't isolate the bypass path fully from the effect circuit, fuzz leaks into the bypassed sound. The circuit is very crude and signal can get 'backwards' through it as well .

I'm also surprised they managed to squeeze in a battery as well, but I think they key is that they're taller than I expected - actually a bit too much so, they don't look quite right from the side. [/nit-picking]

And I'm still highly suspicious and somewhat unimpressed by anything that actually says "Jimi Hendrix" on it... as well as that it just didn't sound quite as good as the others in that demo (from as little of it as you could actually hear, anyway).

Yeah, the problem with that noisy namm demo is that he could have been setting the amp very warm, that and the camera mike will like be drawn to the high end means that i could take a punt on the dark blue one one only to plug it into my blackface style amp and proceed to take people's heads off. Hopefully PGS will sort us out soon wih a proper demo.

GuitarGuitar just told me via Facebook that they're expecting them to be £99.

    ...and GAK seem to agree.

I have no idea why I want one of these but I do. The money that was going to go an a second hand BOR or a decent clean boost is looking very vulnerable now. And £99 gives me a benchmark for seeking a bargain price at the Birmingham Guitar Show.
