What about a proper grown-up guitar like this? (not mine obvs.)

Doubt he'd ever get much more than your £800 budget "in the current climate".

You'd probably want to stick different pickups in though, I know I would.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

I absolutely love it, but fear I'd be taking the piss if I offer him two thirds of what he's asking

Trawling around a little I reckon this is the guitar that sold on eBay for £580 a week or so ago: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Guild-Star...-/140906405228

Now that would be cheeky. I say good luck to him (or her); everyone has to make a living, but I doubt anyone will pay £1200 for it.

Hokay. I wonder if this is still for sale?

It's a hike to collect of course.

Hope you didn't think I was being rude or ungrateful, certainly not my intention - all input really appreciated

I think the Elite is available and it is lurverly beyond compare, but the difficultly is that the OP won't pack for courier collection, and it's a long way from Ipswich to Manchester

I hate that. It's the vendors call, obviously, but it really isn't that difficult to pack super securely. The buyer can also pay for fully insured carriage if it is in a hardcase in a box (with plenty of packing round it).

I would have had at least two guitars on here in a flash had the vendors not been so stubborn. One of the said guitars is back up for sale at least a year after I had tried to secure it.

I bought a Yamaha SG1000 from a forumite in Scotland for nigh on 600 and he packaged it up perfectly and couriered it down. I nearly wet myself with excitement when it arrived, only for it to take me 30 mins to get to it cos it had been so securely packaged...

Edit: there are a couple of very well respected, stand-up forumites in the Manc region. I bet they'd doo the deal on your behalf and send it to you for a pint and the warm praise of the community

Somewhere, somehow, somebody must've kicked you around some
