The thing I like most about the Blackstar HT DistX (and I expect a similar quality from the dual) is that when you turn it down from the insain gain settings it still sounds warm and amp like and not spiky and spatty like a distortion pedal suffering from input withdrawal syptoms . Ive got pedals that distort more like the tone core uber , metal master , and a couple of Dr Boogey's which only work well when used for brutalz . I think im starting to move more towards looser distortion or at least distortion that has more than a good flat out setting .

Completly agree with you on this one, I had a Dist-x (literaly just sold it) which i ran at quarter gain max, sounded awesome, the annoying power supply made me sell it, tried out oa suhr riot which sounded awesome, now have one on the way from a fellow forumite woohoo

I have a Gristle King (not bad!) and I like the idea of a Timmy but having A/B one with my Dano TOD there isn't enough difference for the money. And actually I prefer the Dano!

Rev - is the Tech 21 Double Drive much different to the XXL? I had a bass XXL and it was pants!

The new Gain Changer looks fabulous, and I know the 1/2 Gainer and the Dual UnLtd are great. Depending what you like the idea of look at the Ltd or the Direct Drive. Or even a Dual Discrete ?
