Special Delivery or any method is only as good as the operatives handling them . If your packages go through a dodgy depot where dodgy operatives work then % of successful deliveries is less . On the other hand if your local depot has better work ethics , discipline etc you probably wont lose anything for years as was the case for my self but as soon as my local depot closed and my mail was handled by the next nearest depot that was when the quality of service just fell apart .

I posted a pedal via Royal Mail on Friday that hasn't arrived at its destination yet. How long do they expect you to wait before making enquiries as to where it is? I guess I need to find out which sorting offices it would have gone through and enquire with each of them?

This thread, and indeed experiences of the buyer, really fill me with hope

I had a season ticket for a football club go missing in the post a couple of years back. I checked with the club box office and it had definitely gone out, via special delivery. I rang the local sorting office and spoke to a particularly surly manager, who obviously wasn't interested. When I insisted he do something about it, he said he'd look into it and was about to hang up. At which point I asked him......didn't he need my name and address then ? Bunch of jokers.

It never did turn up and the club cancelled it and re-issued a new one. I'm still wondering though, how the bloke who nicked it would have explained why he was sitting next to my son, in my seat.
I'm fed up with people joking about dyslexia. It's not big and it's not furry.
