TC Novadrive You can stack the OD and Dist in either order or run them parallel and save patches. Great pedal!

good point, i forgot about that. I guess that's another advantage of dual pedals.

Though looked at from the other angle, pedals like that normally mean you can't use the boost independently, which could be a problem for some people.

One nice combo is a medium overdrive pedal with a treble booster in its front end works very well into Klon . Riot even a cough cough Tubescreamer

I have a Jauernig (original and best) Gristle King in the classifieds. Newest version, immaculate and boxed.

I've owned a few dual OD pedals (Death Rattle, fulldrive II, Mesa V Twin). In most cases, you seem to end up making compromises on one of the channels. So now I generally use separate pedals. If you were less hard-to-please, or chopped and changed your gear less often, then a dual OD would be great, but I like the ability to swap pedals in and out more often.

Yeah, the swapping pedals thing is a very good point. My concern with dual pedals is i would have to like the tone of each side, well, i would have no choice! Whereas 2 separate pedals, i could really pair up anything i want.

I prefer boost type pedals stacked into drive pedals to give them some balls. A Fulltone Fatboost 2 into a Zvex Distortron has been an ever present on my board for a fair while now.
For dual pedals, the Double Hotcake is stupidly amazing. Two Hotcakes (one Bluesberry, one regular) in one box that combine to give an awesome lead sound that goes from creamy and bluesey to thick and fuzzy. I bang on about the double Hotcake pretty every chance I get!

I use a T-Rex Mudhoney with a TS9 Tubescreamer in front, and together they're electric!

I use them with a Gibson Les Paul Studio and a Fender BJ on clean, with the Mudhoney set at 12 oclock on its higher gain setting and the TS9 set at about 2 oclock, with tone more towards treble on both. At home, this gives me a lead sound very similar to the lead 15 secs in at the beginning of 'Stand by me' by Oasis. The Mudhoney also sounds good on its own.

I've also got a HT Dual, which can provide quite heavy distortion, but I wouldn't say it was great as a dual pedal. In fact, I don't really like it all that much and would gladly sell it because I prefer my other pedals.

You can't have too many rats on one board :P (I am going to trade my MXR Dist III for either a hustle drive or a black secret, and the rat is winning so far).

Visual sound double trouble, Visual Sound Jekyl and Hyde, Visual Sound Route 66 (I use the compressor as a clean boost running into the tubescreamer, which can give some crazy fuzzy tones, though not what you want). For you, the double trouble sounds like the best bet - two excellent modded tubescreamers side by side, independently switch-able, with more gain and output than a stock tubescreamer and a bass boost on each - this means you can set two pretty different sounds up. The route 66 (which has the same OD as the double trouble) running into the MXR distortion III is awesome, too (my current gainy set up). I use the MXR second because it has tons and tons of output, so can work both as crunchy distortion or a volume boost for an already crunchy sound, but it can work the other way, with the tubescreamer tightening the slightly muddy bass of the MXR. The tubescreamer loves having a boosted signal, too. The Jekyl and Hyde is...Well, watch a few demos. One of my fave boxes of all time, can't believe I let her go :-(

Or the blackstar HT dual. They're one of the finest distortions around IMO, but I couldn't afford it (a used route 66 and MXR together comes to less than the price of a used HT Dual) and I desperately wanted a good compressor. I'd argue the HT dual would sound better, and offer more in terms of versatility than a double trouble.
