Indeed they can, it's an easy job and this was my intention with them. Unfortunately these turned out to have staggered posts which didn't suit my needs, although the seller had told me that the posts were not staggered.

My sincere apologies to citizen68 for any sour taste and ill feeling his is suffering.
However...
a. 'dibs' is not a 'promise' of a sale. Anyone who has held an item for someone requesting dibs knows how frustrating it can be when the sale falls through and they've lost other prospective buyers in the meantime, and I know I'm guilty of this too so I'm not pointing the finger. In regards to this sale, it needed to be a quick and complete sale as the item was eligible for return if I didn't sell asap - hence I wasn't really in the position to get caught up in a dibs war.
b. 'dibs' is even less of a 'promise' of a sale when followed by 'just need to check my paypal account' and a request for pictures - if you don't know if you've got £50 then don't claim dibs.
c. Admittedly, 34 minutes wasn't long for me to allow citizen68 long to confirm whether or not he was buying, so I'm sorry about that, but on the basis that all posts followed in fairly quick succession, I hoped he might still be online and able to reply.
Again, my apologies for any upset caused. Lessons learnt all round...
If you'd bothered to check my feedback on the 'good/bad traders' thread you'd see that I haven't had a bad deal on MR to date.
Your point about me requesting a picture and 'not knowing if i had £50' is a cheap shot and in my opinion a load of bollocks!
I told you I would get back to you later in the day but you chose to ignore this..
The sour taste is long gone and I apologise for labouring the point - I just needed to vent!
