I left my house expecting to return with an Ampeg combo. Deal fell through-I was literally just around the corner from the dude's house, when he texted me. Oh well. Long story short, I found a very slightly used Peavey MAX 112 ( even still had the box and manual!), and brought it home. It sounds very nice! Quite flexible tone-wise, it can do low and growly or clear and tight. It's also built like a tank, and gets loud as HELL. This amp shakes the walls and rattles unattended objects across the room. Sounds good quiet or loud, and has a headphone out.
Other features:
separate active and passive inputs.
Punch, Midshift, bright, gain boost and bass boost switches.
XLR output with ground lift
Chromatic tuner.
Aux input.
angled cab/kickback.
Most importantly, my GAS is now cured for a while!
I was just looking on Peavey's website, and it turns out that the latest version that I have is 200 watts, not the 35 watts I thought I was getting. No wonder it's so fecking loud!
