Default Fender Precision & Jazz Bass USA standard

What kind of price would you expect these to go for secondhand. I've been looking on ebay and they seem a bit overpriced.
    Many thanks in advance.

If they sold then they weren't overpriced.

No, it was just the starting bids. For example, £900.00 for a Bass that costs £1100.00 max new?
Take a Strat with a similar retail price and they are going for 550-650 on ebay all the time.

They go for £600-£700 on Basschat most of the time. I think that's about right.

I am a Basschat member and prices for standard US P and J bases are coming down to a sensible level now but I agree totally that basses seem to have MUCH higher start prices on Ebay than equivalent guitars. Try looking on Gumtree as it's not uncommon to see US P basses going for £450-£500 and a little more for Js.

I wouldn't pay more than £5-£600 for a US P/J. A decent mid/late 70s Fender bass is a much better buy and there have been a couple on Basschat recently (both Ps) for under £1000.
