    Default Possible mic advice needed

    Hi ,

I've just started doing some recording and could do with some advice.

Just want to record Acoustic and Vocals simultaneously.Currently using L6 toneport UX2 , Reaper and a single LDC mic.Have managed to record this http://soundcloud.com/bobblehat-3/li...ack-submarines with this set up.Needs some work on the production but still learning.

I am thinking about getting an SDC mic to capture the guitar separately but not sure how much benefit I would get from this.Any recommendations on a cheap SDC welcome.

    Any advice much appreciated.

    Thanks

Playing whilst drunk is only permissable if all other band members are in a similar state.

AKG Perception gets my vote! Pointed at aroundabout the twelth fret area, then adjust to balance SDC guitar sound with the guitar spill in the LDC - job's a fish!

    Define "cheap" ....

Oktava MK-012-01 is a superb little condenser.

Thomann TBone range for good value also worth considering

I can't think of an SDC at £70 that I'd be happy to use on an acoustic guitar.

I used an Oktava MK 012 the other day and was pleasantly surprised by it though.
The AT2031 is good for the money but you are looking at £150.
You might find it for £90 or so used.
