Question What's up with the Vox Tony Bruno combos?

Stumbling around t'internet I noticed that these are at fairly reduced prices in some places.

They never seem to have gathered any kind of buzz about them.

I don't think the look quite works ( look too much like the cheaper modelling end of the vox range)but the Fender-Vox hybrid thing should be good so I wondered why there seems to be so little interest in these?

I think they look and (from demo's) sound pretty decent, but they're too big and WAY too heavy for a low volume grab and go.....

That's my issue with them, otherwise I may well have picked up the 18 by now

next time I'm in guitarguitar I'll wait until no one is looking and see if I can pick one up without hurting my back!

I found a 3.5/5 star review on musicradar but that was at nearly double the price for what you can get one at now ( although some places still charging nearer the original price).Presumably, that would mitigate the review up half a star at least!

I'd say if you can put up with the size and weight go for it at that price, you're in Blues Junior territory there and I bet it could compete with that.

It's the bigger models ( 35 watt?) that have had the price cut; the 18 watt version is not much more than a blues junior though. Not really in the market for an amp at this moment in time but I'm updating my mental log of what I can persuade Mrstheweary I need when my Laney finally goes up in flames.
