Sounds like you should just pick the bits you want off Warmoth and get one of the Forum builders to put it together. HH Tele body, 10-16 inch compound radius board on a Wizard neck. Rio Grande Pickups (they do tappable tele style pups that will fit with a proper tele bridge) and some decent hardware. For a bucker to sound like a Telecaster it needs to have 12 magnetic pole pieces so it taps to a true single coil and a steel or brass baseplate.

I can find someone on here to build it if I find all the parts? I like the sound of that! Although my finances have taken quite a hit with the dog making several unforseen trips to the vets, I can certainly plan ahead and buy pieces as I find them.

So, I can just order from here?

    http://www.warmoth.com/

Have them delivered to the UK, send them off to someone here, pay them a fee, and have a guitar built to my own specs?

WezV on this forum can tell you what you have to do, but plenty of people play Warmouth stuff professionaly and it's pretty top notch. Most of the guitar techs on here (ICBM, Guitar Weasel) could put a Warmoth together and set it up to pro standard.

I have a Bass that was based on (entry level) Warmoth parts and it sounds fine. Put together by Phillipe Dubruille, and if he can't make a mess of it I doubt WezV would....

    Very nice

Before I go around bothering half of MusicRadar (you guys don't count ) I'll see what I can afford first. Like I said, the pet bills have hit me pretty hard, so I'll have to wait for my insurance claim to come through to get most of it back.

These pickups do Tele and humnucking, but I think BKP only made them for Nathan Sheppard

Know what you mean about vet bills ... we've got two horses and four cats ... when students graduate from the Royal Veterinary College I swear they give em our details as a soft touch!

Haha I've been watching the Soprano's (again), and there's a scene where the vet won't give a sick horse any treatment until payment is made... Mercenary bastards. Then again, they could just let it die and package it as beef.

ANYWAY! Not quite what I set out to buy, but I'll be incredibly surprised if I don't end up with one of these by the end of the month...

Yamaha build quality, gorgeous finish, splittable Seymour Duncan humbuggy & P90 in the neck... Sort of a love at first site thing, and I'm just staggered at the price. I've been bouncing back and forth between the colours... I REALLY like the Purple, Blue, Red, & Orange ones
