Are they the 611 version or the 3 ? I tried both in a shop and thought the 6 was streets ahead of the lower model in terms of tone. However I think the only difference between the 2 is the pick ups and the cost. So if you wanted to swap the pickups for something more bespoke buy the cheaper one. Then put the cash towards new pups. Both great guitars.

The 611 Has two decent SDs with the switching options I desire. Pretty much set on the translucent black (which to me is blue) one... Seems a bit too good to be true for £450, but gotta be worth a try. Soren Anderson gets it to sound great, but that guy is an awesome player haha.

He could make anything sound good. There's a great vid of him with a 611 and a thr . I think for me it would be the black or the root beer ,that's what they call the red one. There was a shop on eBay selling new ones at a good price. Can't remember their name but worth a search.

What about the Fret-King Geoff Whitehorn guitar? It does a shitload of different things with that pickup combination and those push/pulls. Only downsides are that it looks like a Strat and it's cream...

I can get over the body shape, but I can't do a guitar that colour...

Can't say I thought much of that... The driven tone was quite horrendous (reminded me of Gilbert back in the day, but even worse), and the clean tones were just flat & uninspiring. Maybe it's the amp he's using, but I'm certainly not making a trip to GuitarGuitar to try one if that's what it sounds like
