Really ? I thought the commentary was over-sentimentalised anthropomorphic guff. Great pics though

Aye - but they are both professors in proper academic subjects and haven't strayed that far from their expertise

I suspose I'm thinking about the bits where he was on the boat/ice, like a camera crew following a camera crew. For example the genuine excitment and wonder from him catching a glimpse of the bears again. He was there with them for real, not just adding a voice over (although he obviously did that part as well).

BBC presenters should be a specialist in the subject being shown (or at least in a closely related subject)
Cox is a Prof of Physics, Alice Roberts is a Prof of Anatomy ...
(by contrast Michael Mosley didn't complete his medicine degree...)
[I have no complaints at Dara O'Briain co-presenting that Astronomy prog with Cox, though the "rent a comedian" spot on it was hideous]

I'm not sure either....anyway I think we agree Hammond shouldn't be presenting serious stuff, and the BBC should use people who know what they're talking about.

eh - just saw Dara O'B studied "mathematics and theoretical physics" at uni so he's ok.. and Liz Bonnin can present anything far as I'm concerned - she was in a pop group...

The little car thing was hilarious to begin with - one of the funniest things on TG for ages - but went on way too long. I was bored by the time he got to DD.

This is the sort of thinking that gives people like David Starkey. Over 90% of the so called experts are barking mad and shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a TV.
