    Default Doesn't fit

Just listened to Beverly Knights Keep the fires burning on the radio, now is it just me or is the drum track way out of time on the track in places?

Ew I see what you mean.. It's that percussive, hi-hatty thing that I guess is supposed to have that "just behind the beat" cool vibe about it but just sounds wrong.

Interesting - I thought the same at first, but after a while it sounded right. I wondered if they'd stopped the odd timing thing later in the song, so when it got to the end I went straight back to the start and listened again... and it now seems to fit perfectly. You just have to pick up on it and then it sounds right.

The acappella section at the end doesn't fit though - it's maybe mixed slightly too loud relative to the rest of the track. (Or that's an effect of Youtube compression.)

Very cool Bauhaus T-shirt too, I had one just like it... in about 1985.

    Sounds fine to me.

I suspect it's intended to jar a little bit to add a bit of rhythmic interest.

...and a poster of a Ducati 900SS on the wall, just behind. I had one of those. The bike, not the poster.

Christ - that's a bit jarring... I ended up muting it, and knocking one out to the visuals, instead!

Makes more sense if you count it as triplet time.

    Still a bit shit though.
