One of MusicRadar's 12 of the best new guitar gear from NAMM 2013 is that fkn Fender mandolin. REALLY?! I may well cancel my subscription to Guitarist.
Was the NAMM pickings really that slim to have to beef out the article with a mandolin?

Oh snap! I don't know, I think that NAMM was a definitely on the weak side, I only found the Magnatones amp revival interesting to say the least. But hey, you pick and choose.
