    Haha .

I'm actually quite interested to hear these - haven't managed to so far - but they are definitely a modelling amp.

No they're not - the nice man from Blackstar said so! I'd like to hear one too, but suspect they'll dissapoint.

Line 6's jargon on the DT series is they aren't really modelling amps either, apparently the mode you turn them up the less modelling is happening to the point it's actually a valve amp - not so sure about that but they do sound very good indeed, loads better than any other modelling amp I've tried. Having said that, plugging in to my Plexi always puts a bigger smile on my face

whilst my amp collection and experience isnt great out of the amps I have (Mesa F50,Orange Rocker 30, Line 6 DT25 and Line 6 spider iv) I find myself playing the spider most of all. Yes some of the dynamics are missing if the amp is played quieter on the master volume but I dont find it suffers in the tone department, sure its mildly overdriven sounds are not that good as you can hear some fizziness ( a reason I got rid of the fender superchamp) but the cleans and distortion sounds are great. Its a hugely versatile piece if kit and it records into my DAW perfectly. The less I need to play out live the less Im begining to like my valve amps as volume needed to get them sounding great is way beyond the limits the rest of my household can withstand.

I know the earlier line 6 spider amps got bad press and Im sure most of you if you try one will not like it immediately but as with all new equipment if you take the time to learn it you can get some stella sounds out of it i mean who doesnt need a 64 channel amp?

Hahahahahahaha, that's even funnier than the Blackstar claim.

They will sound better if you turn them up, yes. So will a POD being played through a clean valve amp, which is basically what they are.

Why won't companies just sell their products on the merits of what they are and what they sound like? This is a real pet peeve of mine I know, but I genuinely think it crosses the line of unacceptable marketing deception in many cases.

I once had a Lab Series 2x12 solid state with inbuilt compression - it sounded the nuts with a Rickenbacker...totally awesome - better than most of the vlaves stuff Ive had infact!
